Welcome to the Southern Metropolitan Region School Sports Awards Webpage. 

The Southern Metropolitan Region School Sports Awards were established in 1997 to recognise sporting excellence or contribution at the school level. 

Each year in November a ceremony is held where successful nominees receive their awards from successful sporting personalities, witnessed by their family and School Principals. 

The purpose of this site is to encourage students in both Primary and Secondary Schools who are enjoying success in their school sport to nominate for a Southern Metropolitan Region Sports Award. 

Nominated students should have demonstrated sporting excellence at School, District, Zone, Region or State Final level. 

Students are only able to receive an award once at Primary school and once at Secondary School.  Students can nominate for more than one sport (as separate nominations) or an all rounder award.  Performances outside of school will not be considered.  Sports must be listed on the nomination form as official VPSSA or VSSSA sports.   

Nominations can be made by Principals and Sport Coordinators.  

A panel of Southern Zone Sports Award Committee members will make final selections of award winners each year.
